PhotoDonuts -Hi Valentina, can you tell me more about yourself?
Valentina Vallone -I always find it hard to talk about myself: it ‘s like taking off the skin and let my real nature come out. And my nature is tough and intense when it comes to uphold and to never give up my own ideas. It is also in my nature to be ironic as much as I can in my life . And to be sweet too: but this is a part of me which is so deep and intimate that I can only manage to disclose it with the people I really love.

-Since when do you do photography?
I have been doing photographs for almost one year… I still can’t believe it !!
-We may note that your work focuses (but not only) on women and nudity in a way still very elegant and intimate.
Can you tell us more about this choice?
I think that a female body is a great source of inspiration: the lights , the shadows and the bends too will never be shown in the same way on a dressed body. I did start taking picture to myself always trying not to be coarse or gross in any way…
I worked a lot on this. When I started taking pictures of my own friends I asked them if they agreed in showing their naked body but in the most appropriate way and which limit had not to be overcome.
-What gives you inspiration for you photos?
I am mostly inspired by the movies I watch and by the music I listen to each day but my best pictures were born from sudden inspiration and I am really proud of this as I do not follow any pattern but just let my instinct lead me.
-What environment do you like for your shootings?
I like home interiors ….I always try to take pictures in my friends’ real houses and this makes photos real and more intimate.
But now that the spring has finally arrived I am also shooting outdoor very often … nature is always an awesome frame.

-What does photography mean to you?
Photography is my magnifying lens…it helps me to see things in different ways and it has also changed my mind making it more flexible on certain subjects. I would have never thought that I would have photographed naked people. But some gestures and expressions or movements I took for granted in the past, well…they seem different now. I can give them a different value and I can make them somehow unique and exclusive. Photography is communication in my opinion…a picture can be direct as a poetry, it only depends on what you want to express.
-Is there something special you want to do in your work soon?
I really would like to make a stop-motion…I already have some ideas and I hope to work on them soon.
-Do you have any projects you would like to achieve?
A trip around the world together with my cameras…
I would like to thank all my followers on flickr and the blogs which have supported me up to here.
Thank you for your time and your generosity Valentina, we wish you the best!

for me it’s an honor to be on photodonuts.
lots of love
Valentina
Je ne suis pas fan de ses photos style « Polaroïds », mais il se dégage de ses autres clichés une intensité et une émotion très particulière.
